Many movie fans keep trouping to the cinemas every day since the movie started showing over the weekend.

Silverbird Ghana currently tops the box office chart across East and West Africa beating all competitors including Lagos and Nairobi where movie culture, just a few months ago before the introduction of Silverbird in Accra, was much more entrenched than it was in Ghana. Silverbird Ghana has certainly come to deliver quality entertainment and Ghanaians are more than excited to embrace the revolution.

Daniel Radcliffe. Photo: Angie ZambranoDaniel Radcliffe Calls For Somali Co-StarsHarry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince star Daniel Radcliffe has called on the producers of his upcoming movie about Somalia to cast actors from the African country to keep the project authentic.

The 20 year old is preparing to film "The Journey Is The Destination", in which he will play Dan Eldon, the British photojournalist whose work brought global attention to the Somali civil war in the 1990s.

And he's hoping the movie's casting directors will maintain respect for the country by hiring actors of the correct ethnicity.

C-real repping for Ghana. Photo: Ghana Music.comIt’s down to the wire for Emcee Africa II’s five finalists when the ultimate battle takes place on Saturday 25 July and DStv audiences in Botswana will get to catch the action live as they perform live.

South Africa’s Maraza, Ghana’s C-Real, Botswana’s Cibil Nyte, Kenya’s Point Blank and Nigeria’s Black Jeez will be given one last chance to impress the judges at Gaborone’s Fashion Lounge at an event that’s open to the public.

The judges are the who’s who of African hip-hop and they will decide which two finalists have the skills to take on Botswana’s Zeus in a one-on-one battle which will eventually decide who will wear the Emcee Africa II crown.
