Ghana Fashion Weekend 2009. Photo: ghanafashionweekend.comGhana’s most respected and largest modeling agency, Exopa Model Agency International has officially launched this year’s “Ghana Fashion Weekend 2009”.

The 4-day event will be a mixture of Modeling Shows and Fashion Exhibitions, which will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre, Accra Ghana from 1st July - 4th July, 2009. Ghana Fashion Weekend is under the theme: “Harnessing Creative Talents within Africa”.


This year's event features 30 Designers around the globe, 40 Exopa models from Europe, the Americas, Asia plus 60 of the finest from Africa. The fashion show will also bring together different designers from within Africa, Europe and America, including designs from German-Ghanaian Boris Kodjo's Yummy clothing line.

Ghana Fashion Weekend 2009 seeks to explore, boost interest and showcase talents within the Ghanaian fashion industry and the world over.The highly anticipated show is under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

At the launch, Sima Ibrahim, CEO of Exopa promised an exciting event and called for support from fashion related companies as well as other businesses. The speacial guest of honour, Juliana Azumah-Mensah, Minister for Tourism emphasized the importance of fashion and the potential it bears on the tourism industry.

The show will be televised LIVE, primetime in turns, each single day of the event on Ghana's most viewed televsion stations - TV3.
